Predominantly, I'm a writer, with a great emphasis on action/comedy. I am also an actor, & a director, which is why I fancy the term "WAD". Yes, I'm a WAD. There, I said it. I feel better.

I don’t come from a film-orientented family. My father is an eccentric custom carpenter, but I never found interest in making a table that looks like a dog on a surfboard. My mother was a brilliant sketch artist, but my affinity for drawing died with Nickelodeon’s Doug in the 90’s. My sister has studied a bevy of subjects, none of which include Tom Cruise. My brother went through a phase with graphic design and considered college, but starting working for Ford and never looked back. I, on the other hand, know about as much about cars as I do about gloriously jumping 20 burning trailer homes on a sick, chrome Harley, as my mullet flutters in the Alabama summer wind… which is not very much at all.

In high school, it became clear that my fanaticism of film was conflating itself to narrative interests. I failed Geometry and aced advanced English in the same semester. Well, it wasn’t hard to do the math on that one.

I approach my writing with a simple initiative to tell a story carried by a bevy of intriguing and questionable characters. I don’t intend to formulate these stories primarily as comedy, but they will make you laugh and render a wry smile more than anything. I’m told I’m funny, but I think my characters are much funnier, and I don’t think most of them would like me. Half of them are approachable people, but the other half are unapologetic assholes than would consider me meek.

Shane Black, Martin McDonaugh, Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino; these are names synonymous with my style, injecting levity into a seamless confluence of genre and culture. I seek to filter my work with frenetic action and a dark tonality for the humor to juxtapose with, like an orchestra of chaos. This opposition ensues behind the very struggle of the actual characters themselves, and drives them. It compels me, and I hope it compels you.
